Waikaka Presbyterian Church
This parish was formed in 1899 from the Waikaka Valley Parish, and a session was ordained. In 1901 the Rev. William Findlay of Pukekohe accepted a call and was inducted. He was a Scot who came to New Zealand in 1886.
1911 was a year of achievement as far as this district was concerned, as in that year the Waikaka Presbyterian Church was opened. It was built by M.M. Christie at a cost of £388.10. Then in 1925 the manse was shifted from the North Chatton district to the present site at Waikaka.
At his death in 1937, Mr Findlay was described at the Assembley as follows: "He gave indefatigable devotion to his work as pastor and preacher. Ever a diligent worker and seeker after souls ..."
