“With all the wealth of his life experiences, he remained truly a simple person. That was his strength. He could relate to anyone, at any level. His faith was a strong and simple one, one which he held with a tenacious passion. He had an innate openness to people and a generosity of spirit that endeared him to all. He was a faithful servant of the church as a minister of the Word and Sacraments and in the pastoral care of the people in his charge.” (from Obituary)
