DescriptionA casual photo of Rev Alexander Don (left) visiting an unknown Chinese Man at his home in the Waikaia District, Southland, New Zealand. The home is a typical sod or mud brick home with a thatched (mud and straw with thin wooden sticks horizontal to the roofline) roof but, additionally, both the walls and the roof are also covered in canvas sacks. There is also a weight hanging down from the middle of the roof to help keep everything down in the wind. There is a small cabbage patch planted near the front door.
