Hewitson Library Collections
Collection DescriptionThe Hewitson Library collections date from the 1860s, with the first gifts of books from local clergy forming their base. Currently, the Library supports staff and students of the Knox Centre for Ministry and Leadership, ministers, laity, and members of the wider Church, as well as the resident and non-resident members of Knox College, and staff and students of the University of Otago, particularly the Department of Theology and Religion and the Department of History. The Library is also open to members of the public with an interest in theology, and contributes to the academic life of NZ and Australia through Te Puna Interlibrary loan.
The Library holds several special collections, several of which are highlighted below. There are also a number of online resources available to members.
