St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Katikati
1875 Settlers arrive in Katikati from Northern Ireland including seven Presbyterian families
1876 Rev. David Bruce, St Andrew's Auckland, visits Katikati. Church Committee formed. Rev. John Mark ordained. Worship at the home of Mr Andrew Wilson
1878 Three more Presbyterian families arrive on the Lady Jocelyn
1879 80 adherents recorded in statistics. Bible Class and Sunday School begin.
1880 Services move to the Waitekohe School
1883 Services move to the Orange Hall
1885 Communicant membership at 31
1887 John Mark dies aged 76 - the parish is vacant for 17 years, supported by services from other parishes
1891 Katikati becomes part of the Tauranga parish
1900 Katikati is transferred to the Waihi parish
1905 Congregation petitions Session for regular Sunday services at Katikati
1906 A. H. Norrie appointed Home Missionary at Katikati
1908 First service in church building
1912 Katikati Session formed; Manse bought
1924 New manse built
1926 Electric lights installed
1929 Katikati petitions Presbytery to become a Church Extension Charge. Rev. Ebenezer Bishop appointed - resigns 1931
1931 Rev. William Phillips appointed Home Missionary
1935 Church Hall built at Aongatete
1942 Supper room added to Hall
1949 Congregation petitions Presbytery to become an aided charge
1950 Struan A. Robertson ordained to Katikati
1954 E. L. Kirkby inducted
1956 Extended church hall opened
1964 A. J. E. Orange inducted
1969 Services end at Aongatete
1970 H. C. Morgan ordained
1972 Third manse on Jocelyn Street; old manse renamed Youth Centre
1974 J. B. A. Bell inducted
1975 Hammond organ replaces Harmonium
In June 1975 the congregation contained 260 households, or 820 persons, under pastoral care. There were 128 Communicants, and 61 children on the Sunday School roll, and 33 on Bible Class roll. There were 13 Elders and 14 Managers.
